We're outta here!!

So, Jasen & I are off to Seattle for the weekend!! My wonderful family is helping out with the kids. I know that when Dave & Jenn have kids I am owing some SERIOUS babysitting time!! When my parents get too old to take care of themselves, I am owing some SERIOUS old people sitting time :) But it is all worth it.

We are going to visit with Becky, Stewart and their new baby Petal on Friday morning, meeting up with the Radfords for lunch, then we have some serious time to ourselves.....YAY!!!

On Saturday night we get to go the the American Idols live concert in Tacoma, I know some of you are laughing and thinking it's cheesy......but I don't care, it is going to be very fun.

See you when we get back on Sunday!!

First Day of School

Both boys started school this week!! It is amazing how time has gone, I never thought I'd see the day :) Jaden started Kindergarten, and Adam had his first day in Pre-School.

Jaden loves his new class, and all of the new things he got to do yesterday, a highlight for him was playing soccer with Mr. Miller!!!

Adam did so good, he got 4 stickers on his chart the first day!

As for me, well, I kinda wandered around the house this morning wondering what I should do....it is very different only having the two babies to take care of. I am used to getting things done in the midst of four children, so to only have two to contend with.....piece of cake!!

Maybe now I can finish my book :)

Unexpected Guest

Jasen and I have been talking recently about the need for us to get up earlier in the morning, so we can have a good chunk of time before the kids wake up, so this morning we did just that. I got up and made a cup of tea, and as I was going into our bedroom I noticed something big and black in our yard........

I guess there are all kinds of things wandering around first thing in the morning!!

Grandpa!!

Grandpa was feeling a little sad the other day because he never gets to be on our blog, so here ya go a post dedicated soley to him. Grandpa is the best Grandpa in the world, the kids love him and are always excited to spend time with him, maybe it's because he gives them anything and everything they want? Oh well, I guess that's what grandpa's are for right??

Church Picnic!

Well, we had planned to have our annual church picnic today but because of our typical, unpredictable weather, we had to cancel. It actually turned out to be a fun afternoon, we had an impromptu BBQ at our house after church, everyone bought food, we had a good time.

Young Adults

Last night, our young adults got together again to help finish the painting in the daycare building. It is exciting to see what is happening with this group of people, the fruit of which is shown in their willingness to give of their time to serve and be a blessing to others. I am glad to be a part of it.

CONGRATULATIONS TED!!

Jasen's good friend from college called last night to let us know he was going to propose to his girlfriend!! So, I believe she said "yes" and they are to be married on Dec 16th. Ted is pretty much the only friend from college that Jasen keeps in touch with, and he values the friendship very much :) In past years, everytime he called I would tell Jasen "ask him if he has a girlfriend yet", then after he met Shana, it was "ask him when he's getting married", now I guess I have to think of a new question!! Poor guy you would never guess that I haven't even met Ted yet!! He probably thinks I'm pretty pushy, which, let's be honest, I am!! But one day, we will meet and I'm sure it will be great. Ketchikan would be a great honeymoon location, don't ya think?

PEDO :)

Some of you will be thinking, "what or who is Pedo?" Well let me tell you....pedo is quite a big part of our family. When Jaden was about 18mos old, I gave him some strawberry milk for the first time, of course he loved it and has been having it in the morning and after his nap ever since. Strawberry was too difficult a word for him at the time, and it always came out "pedo". So, when Adam got the the legal "pedo" drinking age, he too made it a part of his everyday life. Well, we are proud to say that both Evan & Leah have recently graduated to drinking a little "pedo" after their afternoon nap. I think Pedo is here to stay!!

Daycare Progress!

In a previous post I mentioned that I am heading up a new daycare center for the church. It has been a lot of work over the past month or so, but we seem to be making headway!! The paperwork and regulations are endless. The daycare will be housed in what has been the schools preschool building. Over the last couple of weeks we have dumped TONNES & TONNES of junk from around the church, to prepare for our opening. Grant, you would love to have seen the stuff we got rid of :)

The Young Adults got together tonight to paint!! The carpet should be going in in the next couple of weeks! I will post more pics as the transformation continues.

Vaction Bible School

This week we have had vaction bible school going on at the church. The boys have both been going and loving it.
