So, I'm sure that every parent as gone through the "Can we PLEEEEEEEASE get a dog" stage with their kids. We are going through it right now, and I can seriously say we are being slowly worn down, and actually warming up to the idea. I know most of you are thinking that a dog is the last thing we need right now, but hey, why not add to the craziness, it keeps life interesting!! If anyone has any suggestions or recommendations for any particular type of breed, let us know.....we are thinking SMALL!!! These are a few of the breeds we are looking at!
Jasen refuses to get anything white & fluffy, as he thinks it would be embarassing!!

is a great website about dogs according to how well they are with children. Also, you MUST at least rent if not purchase the first season of The Dog Whisperer with Cesar Milan. I know, sounds corny, but if you want a well behaved dog with no issues, he's really great, trust me. Personally, I love english springers, although they are a medium breed. Any tips, just let me know!! I vote yes for sure on getting a dog!!!
Thanks for your imput Liv. I have heard Cesar Milan is good, David & Jenn have the book. We are now thinking about about a Golden Retriever, good family dogs, and one jasen has always wanted!! We are doing some research, and will keep you updated! I actually love the cavalier king charles spaniel, but they aren;t great for really small children.
I think a dog is a great idea for you guys. I like Golden retrievers too. They nice dogs. And yes, Olivia, Cesar Milan is great. I just watched one on how to customize your dog to a new baby. He's a genious! :)
I have always liked the hounds myself. Beagles, Bassetts, Foxhounds, etc. Beagles in particular were a personal favorite through all my growing up years.

I vote for a golden retriver or black lab. They are the nicest, most gentle dogs! Small dogs are too yappy and scurry around your feet trying to bite. Save those for old ladies to carry around in their purses!
Hey Everyone!
It has to be a West Highland Terrier-just like Ben and Taffy. They MUST be the cutest in the world! Not sure if they have them in Alaska though. Can't understand why Jasen doesn't want anything white and fluffy. I think he'd look really cool walking a little white toy poodle. Love to all.
