More Florida

It's been a while since my last post. we have been battling a stomach virus that went through the family right after we got back from our trip. Amazingly it didn't touch me. Everyone is pretty much back to normal, so I have time to post a few more pics, hopefully you aren't bored with them :)

The day after we arrived we took the kids for "A Day Out With Thomas", it was held in a park about 2 hours drive away, although the train ride itself was a little lame they had lots of other fun activites for the kids to do.

Other than that day out we stayed pretty close to home. My Mom & I took one day, left all of the kids with Dad & Grandpa and shopped until we dropped, Jasen was able to golf one day, and we also spent a morning at the beach.

Jasen & I worked for our supper one day, when we took apart the hot tub at the house. Because Jasen has had a recent problem with a trapped nerve I got to do the demo!! Swinging that sledge felt good, although I paid for it the day after. Jaden enjoyed playing with the frogs we found living underneath!

All in all it was such a great trip, very relaxing and exactly what we needed after a long two months without my parents around.

Florida Vacation

We made it back from our sunny time in Florida. We had a great time. It was very relaxing, we only wished we could have stayed longer. Jaden & Adam are still there and will fly home with my parents on Friday. It is very strange only having 2 kids at home, it's been nice, but I'm getting a little bored! I will be glad to have them back :) Here are a few pics, I will post more later when I have chance.

Easter

Happy Easter everyone! We hope you all had a great day. We had a wonderful day with friends and family. We missed my Mom & Dad though and wished they could've been with us. Jasen, Jaden & Adam started the day with a breakfast at the church, then we all went to the main service.

We took lots of pictures of the kids today, although I failed to get a really good one. Trying to get four little kids to sit still, look at the camera AND smile at the same time is not for the fainthearted! Anyway, I got a few cute ones.

We had an afternoon of fun with the Radfords, the Baums, the Goulds Jr, and Tim Lindseth. The Linders had planned on joining us too, but Ken was sick. We missed you guys, and thanks for the great desserts :)

Auntie Jenn brought another yummy cake today, which, as you can see was very popular with the babies. Of course it didn't help the Auntie Jenn gave them a double helping which they finished up with now help from anyone else!!!

We all ate too much food, and just kept going back for more. I think Leahs face shows how we were all feeling by the time the day came to an end!!

Auntie Jenns Chocolate Cake YUM!!!

Productive

Over the last week or so we have been very productive in the Wickert home! Jasen built gates on our deck, so now both the babies and the dog can go outside without me having to worry about them running away! Evan escaped from the house too many times, we had to do something!

I have been spring cleaning this last week or so, doing all those things that you generally put off. Washing windows, cleaning out closets, draws, cupboards, amongst other things. It feels very rewarding to get this stuff done. I think the sunny weather has been a motivator for me :)

It is still pretty cold though, but that doesn't seem to stop the kids from wanting to be outside. here are some cute pics from the last few days.

Spring has Sprung!

I am a little hesitant, but I think I will go out on a limb and say that "Spring has arrived" It is such a beautiful day today, the sun is shining and the sky is blue! Jasen took Jaden, Adam & Macy down to the beach this morning before church.

Everyone went outside again this afternoon, what a difference good weather makes!

The Leah Laugh

A week in review!

This past week has been a real mixture of experiences for sure!!

Where do I start?..... All six of us came down with "the crud" as it is affectionately know here. During that time, my washing machine broke, the VCR broke, the van is still "broke", the dog ran away only to be picked up on the highway by a concerned citizen and taken to the pound. I dropped an open jar of mayonnaise on the floor (you can imagine what my kitchen looked like after that), I scorched one of my nice saucepans cooking rice, then let it scorch again when I was trying to get the original burnt stuff off!! The dog had a serious case of diarrhea......do I need to go on? I really really REALLY miss my MOM & DAD!!
BUT after all the trials we also have good things to report... good friends who will go and rescue the dog from the pound (thanks Kristina!). New bunk beds, play time in the snow, good news from the pediatric cardiologist that Adams heart murmur is nothing to worry about, nice family walk on Saturday, coffee with friends, a couple of sunny days, time at the playground, time alone at the grocery store, Auntie Chris who looked after the kids so I could go to the grocery store, a wonderful husband who is always there with a hug and a "it'll be OK honey"!!

"I just need a break, just two minutes.."

Ok, for all of you Moms that just sometimes need 2 minutes break, here are some creative way to safely contain your children......

Dog Kennels work well........

but if that doesn't quite cut it.......

the dryer is an effective place.....

and if all else fails....

...stick them in front of the TV and let Bob the Builder babysit!!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO MY GRANDPARENTS WHO HAVE BEEN MARRIED 60YRS TODAY!

I have so many great memories of my growing up years. David & I would spend the summers with Nana & Nandad down in Wales. Horse riding, trout fishing, picking fresh vegetables, playing games, visits to the beach and picking blackberries..... We have been so blessed to have such a great relationship with our Grandparents. They are a perfect example of sticking things out, even through tough times. We love you and wish we could be with you to celebrate today :)
